He is a Professor Food Safety and Nutrition Program Team, Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences Department, Clemson University, USA. He received Ph.D. in Food Science in 1994 from the North Carolina State University. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry in 1987 from Clemson University and M.S. in Food Science in 1989 from Clemson University. His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
Research interests include Innovative food processing technologies designed to reduce or eliminate pathogens, Rapid detection of microorganisms on food-contact and non-food contact surfaces, Quality and microbiology of fresh produce, including aquaponically-grown produce, Quality and microbiology of poultry (including chickens, turkeys, ducks, quail)
