Junwen Wang

Biography

Dr. Junwen John Wang is working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Biochemistry and Centre for Genomic Sciences, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. He was a staff scientist at National Institute of Cancer and a postdoc fellow at Center for Bioinformatics, University of Pennsylvania, USA. He obtained his MS from the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD from University of Washington. Dr. Wang was a recipient of Claire & Egtvedt Fellow and NRSA Computational Genomics Fellow, and author of over 30 peer reviewed publications.

Research Interest

Dr. Junwen Wang’s research interests are in Bioinformatics, Systems and Synthetic Biology. His current research focus on (epi)genetic regulatory networks, protein and DNA interaction, microRNA-target interaction, next generation sequencing, cancer genomics and genome wide association studies.
