Biography
SHI Da-zhuo was born on March 20, 1960. Prof. SHI entered the Ph.D. program in 1990 at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences under the supervision of Prof. CHEN Ke-ji, majoring in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 1993, Prof. SHI started working at the Cardiovascular Center in Xiyuan Hospital affiliated to China Academy of Chinese Medical sciences. Dr. SHI has received advanced training in the clinical practice of cardiovascular diseases, catheter technique, intervention technique and molecular biological techniques in Fuwai Heart Hospital & Cardiovascular Institute, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, and Peking University Third Hospital several times since 1990. In addition, he visited Harvard Medical College in the United States twice for advanced studies of clinical practice and molecular biological techniques on cardiovascular diseases. Dr. SHI was promoted to professor and masters tutor in 1997, and then Ph.D. tutor in 1999. In 2001, he was appointed as the leading scientist for internal medicine of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by the State Administration Bureau of TCM, the People's Republic of China and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. At present, he is the vice-president of Xiyuan Hospital; a member of the Political Conference at Haidian District in Beijing; the director of the Cardiovascular Diseases Committee attached to Beijing Association of the Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine (ICWM); the vice director of the Speciality Committee of Activating Blood Circulation and Removing Blood Stasis attached to the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine (CAIM); the vice secretary-general and administrative director of the Specialty Committee of Cardiovascular Disease, which is related to the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies; the standing director of Internal Medicine Committee attached to the China Association of Chinese Medicine; a member of the editorial board of both the Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, and the Journal of Molecular Cardiology of China.
