Biography
Johannes J Rasker completed PhD in the department Internal medicine and rheumatology from University of Groningen. Johannes J Rasker is a Faculty of Behavoural Sciences in the Department of Psychology Health & Technology at University of Twente Enschede, The Netherlands.
Research Interest
Since 2004 he is doing epidemiological (COPCORD) and clinical research in collaboration with Prof Atiqul Haq and Prof. Nazrul Islam (Dhaka, Bangladesh) and together with Prof. Fereydoun Davatchi (Iran). Since 2007 he has been involved in research with MRI, CT scan etc. in people with various rheumatic diseases (spondyloarthropathy, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, etc.) in collaboration with prof. Yasser Emad rheumatologist and Professor Yasser Ragab radiologist in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Cairo University. For many years he conducts research on various aspects of fibromyalgia syndrome in recent years by Prof Fred Wolfe, Wichita, (USA) and Dr E.Klaver-Krol. He has special interest in the philosophy of diseases. He conducts research with Jan-Willem Dannenberg and Peter ten Klooster the attitude of nursing students and nurses towards people with disabilities. He conducts research into feelings of guilt and shame in people with rheumatoid arthritis to the rheumatology department in Apeldoorn, Dr. Jan Maarten van Woerkom and Dr. Frank Eggelmeijer and with the rheumatology department at Dhaka (Prof Atiqul Haq and Prof Minhaz Choudhuri). He has long-standing interest in alternative and complementary therapies in people with rheumatic diseases. A second printing of the book Rheumatism and alternative treatments in 1993 was published in 2014.
