Biography
Dr. Maida Sewitch is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University, a Medical Scientist at the McGill University Health Centre, and an Associate Member of both the Departments of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University and Clinical Epidemiology and Community Studies at St. Mary’s Hospital. Dr. Sewitch obtained her Master of Science and Doctoral degrees in epidemiology from McGill University and completed her postdoctoral training in health services evaluation at the University de Montréal and McGill University.
Research Interest
Dr. Sewitch’s research interests are in adherence to guidelines, colorectal cancer screening, quality assurance and complementary and alternative medicine.  Her research is aimed at determining the quality and safety of screening colonoscopy, enhancing methods in colorectal cancer screening research, and improving rates of colorectal cancer screening. Currently, Dr. Sewitch is leading four peer review funded (FRSQ, CIHR (2), CDHF) studies in colorectal cancer screening and is a Co-Investigator on two peer review funded projects (FRSQ, CIHR) in mental health.
