Biography
Diana began her medical career at the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, where she learned to value compassion, creativity and flexibility in medicine. She attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, and stayed at the same institution for a residency in Family and Community Medicine. She is now an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF.
Research Interest
Her interests include care of underserved populations, addiction medicine, chronic pain management, and social justice in medicine. In addition to teaching residents and maintaining a primary care practice, she runs a chronic pain and addiction consultation clinic, facilitates a chronic pain support group and acts as assistant medical director for the resident-staffed Family Health Center. She has a particular interest in mind-body medicine and its implications for the management of chronic conditions like pain and addiction.
