Biography

Aristotle Garcia-Neto graduated in Biological Sciences from the UFBA (1994), Doctor of Botany at UFRGS (2001), with Postdoctoral by FIOCRUZ-MG (2013), Full Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, UEFS, Laboratory Coordinator Research in Microbiology (LAPEM), Vice-coordinator of the Graduate Program (Masters and Doctorate levels) in Biotechnology UEFS and Technical Manager of Broto, Incubator Biotechnology UEFS. It is permanent teaching and Masters and PhD supervisor of graduate programs (Masters and PhD) in Mathematics (grade 5, CAPES) (since 2003) and Biotechnology (grade 4, CAPES) (since 2005), both from UEFS. It is leader of the Research Group (CNPq), Diversity and Biotechnology Micro-organisms (DBMi) and Culture Collection of Microorganisms of Bahia (CCMB). It is also the CNPq Researcher (level 2) and consultant to the biotechnology assessment area of CAPES. His research areas include Biology and Biotechnology of Fungi and Metagenomics. He has published 72 articles (peer-reviewed), 12 book chapters, one book and deposited 4 patents. Has overseen 9 Postgraduate Doctors and guided 7 Doctors and 18 Masters.
