Professor Adeel is medical parasitologist and expert in tropical medicine and international public health. After obtaining his medical degree from University of Khartoum, Sudan. He completed his graduate studies in USA, earning a degree of Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine and PhD in medical parasitology from Tulane University. From his current post as Professor of Medical Parasitology at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, Professor Adeel has maintained strong international links. He has executed a number of consultative assignmentsfor WHOfor countries in the region as well as at the WHO headquarters. He served two terms as member of the WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Malaria from 2004 to 2012. He is currently Permanent Member of the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund against AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria.
