Abstract :

Background/Introduction: The research analyses heavy metals content in 9 white wines from different region of Romania. Wines were analyzed for Cu, Fe, Cd, Mg, Ca, Na, K, Ni Zn and Co using atomic absorption spectrophotometer Perkin-Elmer Analysis 800. K, Na, Mg and Ca were present in high concentration in white wines. Fe, Cu, Ni, Zn and Cd were in normal limit. Co was under the detection limit. Non-essential Co concentration was very low in white wines. Comparison with literature showed that all heavy metal concentrations in the analyzed Romanian white wines are below the limits designated by EFSA and Romanian Health Ministry.
