Biography

On April 1 2004, I moved to this department from University of British Columbia, which is one of our sister schools. I was an oral maxillofacial surgeon when I was young. With a magnificent death, which is a typical Japanese expression and most probably can be understood only by a Samurai, of oral cancer patients before my eyes and with seeing the loss of personal beauty or functions even if they survived, I moved to the preventive medicine when I was 32 years old. Hence, I have a very strong expectation in the future of preventive dental medicine. I have a family; wife, two daughters, mother and lovely dog. I love watching movies in English. My problem is that I have no time for myself and my family. I am working all the time to encourage my undergraduates and PhD students or my colleagues in my department.
