Biography

Junhai Kai, Ph.D. joined as a research scientist at Siloam Biosciences, LLC, in July 2006.Junhai Kai received his Ph.D. degree in August 2006 from the University of Cincinnati (Dept of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science), with a focus in BioMEMS.He has been working on MEMS and BioMEMS systems for the past 5 years and has published over 10 technical papers in peer-reviewed conferences and journals.His specialty is microfluidic Lab-on-a-chip development for protein analysis systems.He is proficient in the various aspects of lab-on-a-chip immunoassay development including knowledge of micro-scale fluid dynamics and their effects on biochemical reactions.He has significant hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge for various aspects of biochemical system design and fabrication including plastic microfabrication, microfluidic system development and biochemical assay.He was closely involved with the development of disposable protein biochips during the past 3 years as a lead researcher.He was also responsible for the multi-analyte protein immunoassay Lab-On-A-Chip design and system integration to develop the fully-integrated biochip
