Biba Jasmine is a Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park, perusing her second Masters programme in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology, her first one being in Biodiversity Conservation from India. She is currently interning with World Wildlife Fund-DC, understanding sustainable tourism models for developing African countries. She has previously worked with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, Department of Environment and Forest, Government of Delhi, on various water monitoring projects. She has also worked with the Wildlife Institute of India, on the preparation of the 5th National Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Her main interest lies in understanding Human-wildlife and other conservation-related conflicts which are serious obstacles to wildlife conservation efforts worldwide. She is also interested in understanding and applying management tools to a variety of current environmental issues.
