    Obesity in the US and UK

    The United Kingdom and the United States of America are similar countries but have very distinct differences. Both countries are a group of states that share one government, but their government systems differ, the UK is a constitutional monarchy- parliament system, whereas the United States is a federal constitutional republic. In addition, both countries have unique cultures that greatly influence diet. Between 1960 and 2014, there was a continuous increase in overweight individuals, obese people, and extremely obese people in the United States. According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, more than one in three adults in the United States were considered obese in 2014.
