Biography
Dr. Osaro Iyekowa is a Lecturer II in the Department of Chemistry, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. He teaches Organic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Organic Chemistry Practical, Natural Product Chemistry and Organic Spectroscopy. Dr. Iyekowaââ¬â¢s research areas focus mainly on natural product chemistry and medicinal chemistry with interest in drug discovery. His over fifteen journal articles, conference papers and seminar presentations contain research work especially on the use of medicinal plants in the treatment and management of malaria, cough, asthma and skin infections. In 2009, Dr. Iyekowa was nominated among the three Ph. D students in Nigeria Universities to attend the Research Continuum in Natural Product Drug Discovery Symposium organized jointly by the Nigeria Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) and NIH/United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria. Dr. Iyekowa is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria (ICCON) and a member of the Institute of Science Technology (IST), London
