Biography
Dr. Westmark received her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 1995. Currently, she is a Senior Scientist in the Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests lie in the area of synaptic function as related to the over-expression of amyloid beta protein precursor and amyloid beta in Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome and Fragile X syndrome. She has authored over 30 research articles/books. She is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and has reviewed grants for NIH.
