The increasing globalization of food production has emphasized the need for robust food safety management systems. This presentation reviews international food safety standards, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), ISO 22000, and risk-based quality management practices that ensure consumer protection and regulatory compliance. Emerging challenges associated with complex food supply chains will also be discussed.
Furthermore, the presentation will examine the role of digital technologies, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and data driven traceability systems in improving transparency and food safety performance. Future perspectives on harmonizing international food regulations and strengthening food industry resilience will be highlighted.
The session will also present practical case studies demonstrating successful implementation of integrated food safety management systems across food manufacturing sectors. Recommendations for enhancing organizational preparedness, employee training, and continuous quality improvement will be provided.
Dr. David Nguyen is a Professor of Food Safety and Quality Management at Pacific International University, Singapore.
