Abstract :

Malnutrition and its factors among primary school children, particularly in rural settings is still understudied. Malnutrition, typically to say undernutrition is intricated by immediate and distal factors: ? Infection/STHs and Schisto ? Inadequate intake of macro/micro nutrient ? Food security, MCH, and H & Environmental health Despite a number of advancements, malnutrition is still overlooked and half a billion children are at risk. Mostly school age is Neglected group for epidemiological studies and interventions. The justifications to carry out the study were: 1. To add to the growing pool of essential baseline data for des decisions 2. Rethink and strengthen school health and nutrition.

Biography :

Hunegnaw Mekonnen has completed his M.Sc. at the age of 27 years from University of Gondar, College of Medicine and Heath Sciences, Institute of Public Health. He is the Assistant Director of Health promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate, National Nutrition Programme officer at the ministry of Health. His Research is under review. He is serving as nutrition cluster member of the National Nutrition Programme.
