Statement of the Problem: The ongoing war in Ukraine has severely disrupted daily life, impacting food availability, prices, and overall health. Rising food costs, unemployment, and displacement have forced many Ukrainians to alter their diets, with nearly 75% reporting an unbalanced diet and 40% skipping meals. This PhD study examines dietary changes across regions and their impact on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) to inform evidence-based health interventions. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: The questionnaire consists of three blocks of questions: changes in dietary habits, food insecurity experience scale survey module (FIES-SM), socio-demographic module; and medical records review are being conducted to collect data on diet, NCD prevalence, and relevant socio-demographic variables. Also, a systematic review on the topic “A Global Perspective on Nutrition in Conflicts” has been conducted as part of this study to find out how armed conflicts and wars affect the diet of civilian populations worldwide.
