Dr. Jack Appiah Ofori was born in Accra, Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana; and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Nutrition and Food Science from the Florida State University, Florida, USA. His research interest focuses on the development of immunochemical techniques as diagnostic tools to address topical food safety and quality issues such as halal food authentication; species identification of meat, fat and milk; and detection of milk allergens. He also serves as editorial board member for two journals, namely, International Journal of Food Science, Nutrition, and Dietetics; Journal of Food and Nutrition; and Archives of Obesity. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Food Science; and Comprehensive reviews in Food Science and Food Safety.
