Dr. Ming Zhan is currently Chief of Bioinformatics Unit at the National Institute on Aging, NIH, USA. He was born China and received his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, followed by a postdoctoral training in genomics. Prior to joining NIH, Dr. Zhan worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Celera Genomics as a Project Leader and Senior Scientist.Dr. Zhan is the author of more than 50 scientific articles and books. He has also served as an editorial member and ad hoc reviewer for multiple scientific journals and grant agencies.
Dr. Zhan's research interests include deciphering modular and dynamic behavior of gene regulatory networks, identification of signature motifs of RNA binding proteins involved in post-transcription regulation, and computational molecular biology studies on embryonic stem cells and aging.
