Prof/Dr Hideharu Shintani has received his PhD in Kyoto University during the period of 1973-1976. Currently, he is working as professor in Chuo University. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Director of Department of Medical Devices. His research has included Safety Concern of Healthcare products and Sterilization. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as Chandra P. Sharma Award from Society for Biomaterials & Artificial Organs. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs (as he is a Japan delegate of ISO), Biocontrol Science & expert Reviewers for journals like J. Biochemistry & Physiology. He has authored many research articles/books. One example of his most recent book is entitled Sterilization and Disinfection by Plasma from NOVA in 2011 together with Professor Akikazu Sakudo. Dr. H. Shintani is a member of The Society for Antibacterial & Antifungal Agents, Japan, Japanese Society of Medical Instrumentation, The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
