Biography
Francesco Novelli is Associate Professor of Immunology at the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences at the University of Turin. Since 2001, he has been the co-director of the Tumor Immunology Laboratory at the Centro Ricerche Medicina Sperimentale (CERMS), Azienda Universitaria Ospedaliera Città della Salute e della Scienza, in Turin. Dr. Novelli founded and developed the CERMS proteomics facility that has allowed identification of a platform of new markers for pancreatic cancer to be used for diagnostic and therapeutical purposes. Dr. Novelli’s group has characterized the immune response of pancreatic cancer patients to ENO1 and has developed an ENO1-based DNA vaccination that efficiently delays survival of genetically engineered modified (GEM) that spontaneously develop pancreatic cancer. Dr. Novelli’groups activities are also focu sed on the identification of chemotherapy-induced neo-antigens exploitable for pancreatic cancer immunotherapy and in the study of the interactions between immune cells and tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer.
