Anna Maria is a current doctoral candidate at St. John’s University pursuing a Ph.D. in pharmacology. Her research is primarily focused on cancer pharmacology and mechanisms of multi-drug resistance in anti-cancer therapy.
Anna Maria was a part of the 2014 student worker program at Pfizer, developing Antibody-Drug Conjugates in the Oncology Research Unit. Prior to graduate school, Anna Maria worked as a research associate in the Tumor Glycome Laboratory of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery & Thoracic Oncology at NYU Langone Medical Center. She received her B.S. in 2011 from Villanova University.
Anna Maria grew up in Manhasset, NY, is an active member of New York Women in STEM and on the Junior Board of Tuesday’s Children. She joined CRI Young Philanthropists in December of 2014. Through her current research and work experience in the field of cancer research, she has become passionate about biomarker discovery, immunotherapy, and CRI’s mission to raise awareness and further the science for next-generation therapeutics
