Andrew S. Pumerantz, DO, is Chair and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases atWestern University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific.A graduate of Occidental College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Pumerantz served an osteopathic rotating internship at Metropolitan Hospital in Springfield, Pennsylvania, before moving on to Beth Israel Medical Center in NewYork City where he completed residency in Internal Medicine.At Beth Israel, he studied the epidemiology of the tuberculosis and HIV coepidemics while witnessing the rise of multidrugresistant TB in lower Manhattan’s homeless population.After serving as Chief Medical Resident at Beth Israel, he completed a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases atYale School of Medicine.
