Ali Seman

Biography

Ali Seman holds a Ph.D in Computer Science (Bio-pattern Matching) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (UiTM) in 2013. He has 20 years working experience including 8 years in industry and 12 years in academic. In the industry, he held various positions; ranging from subordinates up to managerial levels. He is currently attached at Integrative Pharmacogenomics Institute (iPROMISE) as a Research Fellow, focusing on Malay human genome (DNA) projects e.g. genetic identifications, evolutions, diseases and personalized medicine through bioinformatics tools and methods. He is also a Computer Science Lecturer at Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA, (UiTM), Shah Alam, with very much interest on the core of algorithms and optimization, particularly in the area of clustering and classification. He has so far completed 3 national research grants awarded by Ministry of Education Malaysia as the Principle Investigator and currently received a new grant. He has also published more than 10 international publications in impact journals and proceedings. He is a member of Forensics Sciences Society of Malaysia.
