Biography

Dr. Cao Zhijun is the Associate Professor at China Agricultural University. His undergraduate degree is from Heilongjiang Bayi Agirucltural University and his Ph.D. is from China Agricultural University. He spent 5 months in South Dakota State University and University of Wisconsin-Madison as the exchange student in 2006, and 15 months in Cornell University as the visiting professor in 2010-2011. His research program for the last 10 years has been the nutrient requirements of dairy calves and heifers, and the control of energy metabolism in transition dairy cows.
He works extensively with the Elite Cattlemen Program (ECP), and leads ECP to 25 universities in China. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and is the recipient of several awards including the Beijing NOVA Program Award, the Outstanding Young Scientist Award, the DBN Award for Young Scientist and the CAU TOP Professor Award. He serves as the Committee Member of Nutrient Requirements of Dairy Cattle in China, and Deputy General Secretary of China Cattle Science Association, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
