Dr. Yvonne Ou is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma, including medical, laser and surgical therapies; cataract evaluation and treatment including combined cataract and glaucoma surgery; and glaucoma implant surgery. Her research interests include glaucoma, in particular, applying neural stem cell biology to the characterization and therapy of glaucoma. Other research interests include the relationship between glaucoma and other neurodegenerative diseases.Ou earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in ophthalmology at Jules Stein Institute, UCLA. She has fellowship training from Duke University Eye Center in clinical glaucoma and research glaucoma. Ou is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, Women in Ophthalmology and Prevent Blindness Northern California.
