Biography
Dr William E. Smiddy is Professor of Ophthalmology from the University of Miami, USA. He is the holder of the M.Brenn Green Chair in ophthamlogy, which is awarded through the generosity of philanthropist M. Brenn Green to support research in diabetic eye disease. Dr William E. Smiddy received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins university school of medicine, Baltimore. He has received Honor and Senior Honor Awards from the Vitreous Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Silver Medal from the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and an Honor Award from the American Society of Retinal Specialists. He has presented lectures in more than a dozen foreign countries, and is an integral part of the training of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as continuing medical education courses for practicing ophthalmologists. Dr William E. Smiddy Research Interests includes compilation of cataract surgery,mocular surgery,diabetic retionopathy, macular holes.
