Biography
Prof. Viviene Matiru has served in the University since 1993, rising through the ranks from an Assistant Lecturer, to Lecturer, Senior lecturer, then to her current designation as an Associate Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Botany, and Director ALISO. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Cape Town, a Masters of Science in Plant Pathology from the University of Philippines, and a Bachelor of Education Science (Botany and Zoology) from the University of Nairobi.
