Vikesh Patel

Biography

Mr Patel graduated from the University of Dundee in 1998, completed his basic ophthalmic surgical training in Taunton and Nottingham, and went on to higher surgical training in Nottingham and Cardiff. In 2008, he became a fellow in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead. He was appointed Consultant in Preston in January 2010. During his fellowship he learnt innovative techniques in eyelid reconstruction after tumour excision, endoscopic lacrimal and brow lift surgery, and modern approaches to orbital decompression. He is committed to teaching and training and actively participates in organising courses for local optometrists and GP trainees. He is currently the GPST educational supervisor, undergraduate academic advisor and project option supervisor. Vikesh has published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented scientific papers across the world.
