Biography
Dr. Shehzad Basaria is an endocrinologist in Boston, Massachusetts and is affiliated with Boston Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Aga Khan Medical College and has been in practice for 22 years. He is one of 21 doctors at Boston Medical Center who specialize in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism.   He is an expert in the field of Andrology who has joined the Section of Endocrinology at BUMC as the Clinical Director of Androgen Clinical Research Unit (ACRU). Dr. Basaria’s primary role is the promotion of clinical research at ACRU. Dr. Basaria has research funding from the National Institute on Aging and from Industry and conducts his own research in the filed of Endocrine Oncology (evaluating endocrine complications of castration in men with prostate cancer) and Endocrinology of Aging (testosterone replacement in elderly men). He is also evaluating the role of testosterone replacement in men with opioid-induced hypogonadism. In addition to his own research, Dr. Basaria supervises and directs all of the clinical research that takes place within ACRU.
