Dr. Shamira Perera is a Senior Consultant at General Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department, Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore. He was an Anterior Segment Fellowship in Brighton and Sussex University Hospital complemented his experience working as a Glaucoma fellow at Southampton and Portsmouth hospitals and Moorfields Eye Hospital (London). In April 2008, he made the move to Singapore with his family. He is elected as Chairman of the Ophthalmic Trainees Group of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Vice Chair of the Junior Academy of Medical Royal Colleges in 2006, Adjunct Assoc Prof Shamira has a longstanding commitment to training and education. In 2010, he won the Best Teacher/Mentor award at SNEC and contributes as part of the SingHealth Residency core faculty.
