Savini Giacomo

Biography

Giacomo Savini, MD, earned his degree in medicine at the University of Bologna in 1993, where he subsequently completed his residency in ophthalmology (1997). He has since been working privately, with special emphasis on the anterior segment surgery (cataracts, glaucoma and refractive). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the IOL Power Club together with the greatest experts of this sector (Hoffer, Haigis, Olsen). In 2014 he received the title of Visiting Professor from the University of Wenzhou, China. Giacomo Savini, MD, has been a researcher at the Fondazione G. B. Bietti since January 2009. He has published more than 90 papers on internation journals .The main fields of research interest are represented by the. It 'also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the Italian Society of Ophthalmology (SOI).   Acts as a reviewer for the most famous magazines of ophthalmology, queli Ophthalmology, Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Journal of Refractive Surgery, the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, JAMA Ophthalmology and Cornea.  

Research Interest

study of ocular surface diseases (such as dry eye), the study with the OCT diseases of the retina and the optic nerve and the calculation of intraocular lens power from use in cataract surgery.
