My principle research interests are psychophysics and glaucoma. I have been working on the development of a new computer-based testwww.moorfieldsmdt.co.uk for the detection of glaucoma since 1999. The work is being done through collaboration with The Department of Visual Science at The Institute of Ophthalmology, The Glaucoma Research Unit at Moorfields Eye Hospital and The Department of Optometry and Visual Sciences at City University. The test was overall winner of the MRC translational innovation awards at the 2008 Medical Futures competition and offers the potential to make a significant contribution to the prevention of world blindness due to glaucoma.
