Dr Almeida completed an Honors Bachelor of Science, specializing in Toxicology, at the University of Toronto. After undergraduate studies, he completed a PhD in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Drug Research at the University of Szeged in Hungary. He went on to complete medical school and an ophthalmology residency at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. Next, an interest in healthcare administration led Dr. Almeida to complete an MBA at The George Washington University School of Business in Washington, D.C. He has completed a 2-year vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Dr. Almeida joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in July 2015.
