His reaserch interest on Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has been associated with many of the known risk factors for stroke including hypertension, diabetes and atrial fibrillation. There is also a large body of literature that suggests that OSA and stroke are independently associated. In this review, we will discuss the literature supporting OSA not only a risk factor for stroke, but also show how untreated OSA has been associated with worse outcomes in those who suffer from stroke and OSA.
