For the last 25 years, I have been involved in Pharmacology, Toxicology and Biochemistry evaluating the mechanism actions of antitumor drugs, carcinogens, chemopreventive agents and other toxic xenobiotics. These studies have involved metabolism of anthracyclines, etoposide, teniposide and hydrazine derivatives, generation of reactive free radical species and characterizing the binding of reactive intermediates to cellular DNA and proteins.
Research interest include: Free Radicals in Biology and Cancer, Mechanisms of cytokine-lymphokine-induced tumor cell kill and Interactions of anticancer drugs with biomodulators; Molecular and cellular mechanisms of drug resistance; Oncogenes, and relationship to apoptosis and chemoresistance; and Gene Therapy of Cancers.
