Biography

Dr. Attapon Cheepsattayakorn has received his MD from Chiang Mai University Medical School, Chiang Mai, Thailand during the period of 1979-1986. Currently, he is working as a consultant pulmonologist, internist, family physician, radiologist, tuberculosis consultant in the 10th Zonal Tuberculosis and Chest Disease Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand and many other governmental and non-governmental organizations, and disease control and prevention consultant in the 10th Office of Disease Prevention and Control, Chiang Mai, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand including chair and member of postgraduate student examining board committee or members of Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as a past Director of the 10th Zonal Tuberculosis and Chest Disease Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand and a present deputy Director of the 10th Office of Disease Prevention and Control, Chiang Mai, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. His research has included respiratory and tuberculosis articles. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as fellowship of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP, 2001), honorary membership of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association (2002), membership of the American College of Physicians (2003), fellowship of the American College of Physicians (FACP, 2004), fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand (FRCP (T), 2004), fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP (Edin), 2005), fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCP (Glasg), 2005), and fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP, 2007).
