Biography

A/Prof Alan Mc Nab is an opthalmologist specialising in the treatment of diseases of the orbit(eye socket), eyelids and lacrimal system. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1979, and trained as an opthalmologist at the royal victorian eye and ear hospital before undertaking post-graduate fellowships in orbital,lacrimal and ocular plastic surgery at moorfields eye hospital,London,from 1987 to 1989. he published over 140 papers in specialist journals , over 15 book chapters and authored a textbook on orbital and lacrimal surgery,now in its second edition. He is one of only six members of the orbital society outside North America and europe and is also a member of the America, european,australian and asia-pacific societies of opthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery.he is also on the editorial board of several international journals.
