Abed Namavari

Biography

Dr. Abed Namavari is a graduate of Tehran University of Medical Science. He is currently a Research Specialist in Health Sciences in the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, UIC Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. In that capacity he provides statistical analysis and interpretation support, and supervises and trains graduate and laboratory personnel for the department. He previously served as Medical Research Assistant at Farabi Eye Hospital in Tehran. He has published extensively in the important ophthalmology journals and has presented several posters and papers at ARVO. In addition, Dr. Namavari has contributed a chapter on Stem Cells and Their Use in Regenerative Therapy of the Retina to the book Stem Cell Transplantation, Tissue Engineering and Cancer.
