Biography

Faiza Abdur Rab has been teaching in Department of Food Science and Technology University of Karachi as Lecturer since 1998. She did her master in microbiology from Department of Microbiology in 1995 and secured First Class Second Position. During her masters she worked on research project titled "A Comparative Study of Immunological Protection Conferred by Certain Antigenic Preparations of Listeria Monocytogene After her graduation, she worked on topic " Isolation and Characterization of Bioactive Metabolites from Marine Bacterial Source " at H.E.J Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi for about a year.

    In olden days food was considered merely to be a feed that supply nutrients and energy providing components to the living body whereas illness used to be considered to be impairment of body function either in response of any external stimuli such as microbes allergens etc., or some indigenous stimuli e.g., pathological event no matter whatsoever is, but it is evident by latest understanding on knowledge that food fills remedy. We have already submitted work revealing the underlying mechanism of impact of food on dynamics of ailment.
