Dr. Liu conducts empirical research into health system performance and reform issues. He is the author of more than 70 articles and book chapters on structural analysis of health systems, measurement of medical impoverishment, socioeconomic inequalities in access to essential medicines and healthcare finance, smoking and poverty and other topics.
