Synan AbuQamar

Biography

Dr. Synan AbuQamar has received his PhD in Purdue University during the period of 2003- 2007. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in United Arab Emirates University. His area of research has included Molecular Genetics in Plant Immunity/Plant Biotechnology. His research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular factors that control plant defense response mechanisms against necrotrophic pathogens using the “model” plant Arabidopsis thaliana and tomato as host plants. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Physiology (JPBP); Asian Journal of Agricultural Sciences (AJAS); International Journal of Biotechnology & Biochemistry (IJBB); International Journal of Applied Agricultural Research (IJAAR); & expert Reviewers for journals like PLOS ONE; Acta Physiologiae Plantarum; Plant Science Today; Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry; Cloning & Transgenesis; Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology; Plant Molecular Biology Reporter; Molbank; African Journal of Agricultural Research; Grassland Science Journal, and Journal of Revue d’Ecologie (Terre et Vie). He has authored more than 30 research articles/books. He is a member of Scientific Board of Khalifa Center for Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering; and a member in the Technical committee of the Abu Dhabi Plant Genetic Resources Center, Environmental Agency-Abu Dhabi
