Methotrexate, a well-known cytotoxic chemotherapy, anti-folate, immunosuppressant and effectively treats all major disorders like cancer, psoriasis, refractory rheumatoid arthritis, etc. It is widely and mostly used drug having multitherapy properties and well tolerated, however, its cytotoxic nature leads to many serious side effects, including hepato-renal toxicity, so it is necessary to reduce its side effect and get its benefit. Among all hypothesis, oxidative stress and toxic metabolite are the noticeable cause of toxicity. The present study investigated the protective effects of Zinc alone and its combination with vitamin C and vitamin E against the methotrexate induced hepato-renal toxicity in male albino rats. Zinc is a well-known potent anti-oxidant that scavenges the free radical in tissues. Vitamin C and vitamin E are water soluble and insoluble antioxidant, respectively. I.. View More»
