Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Ceará (FAMED/UFC-year 1998), completed Medical Residency in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the São José Hospital of Infectious Diseases, belonging to a network of residences linked to the School of Public Health ? Ceará State Health Department (HSJ ? ESP - SESA/CE, year 2001). At the end of his residency, he made a short-fellow at Wayne State University, Detroit/Michigan, Infectious Diseases and Mycology Laboratory, 2000-2001. In 2002 he took an HIV course at the NIH in Bethesda/Washington for the International Aids Society.
