Biography
Dr. Morris is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. She received her BSc (Pharmacy) from the University of Manitoba, Canada and MSc (Pharmacology) from the University of Ottawa, Canada. After completing a Pharmacy Residency program, she held a faculty position in clinical pharmacy at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada (1976-78). Dr. Morris was awarded her PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York (1984) for work on the pharmacokinetics of sulfate conjugation and inorganic sulfate. She was a Medical Research Council Fellow (1984-85) working on drug metabolism in isolated perfused organ systems at the University of Toronto, Canada, before joining the UB faculty. Her PK/PD modeling interests and capabilities include the development of membrane transport models in pharmacokinetics, including models incorporating renal elimination or biliary elimination/enterohepatic cycling, the development of mechanism-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models in cancer treatment and cancer prevention, and the development of mechanism-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models in lymphatic disease.
