Biography
Marta Piva working as Associate Professor of Biology at Alcorn State University, USA. Her research interest are mitochondria, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, RNA processing, RNA Biology, Yeast Genetics. Her recent Publication is “Ccm1p is a 15S rRNA primary transcript processing factor as elucidated by a novel in vivo system in Saccharomyces cerevisiae”. She has international experience on various programs, and also contributed and participated in different countries for diverse fields of study. Research interests reflect in wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
Research Interest

My research uses transgenic and other molecular approaches like RNAi to address a wide range of questions in plant development and stress responses. The current major research interests of my laboratory is to use RNAi technology to unravel the functions of polyamine biosynthesis genes in various developmental processes, including fruit ripening, stress responses, and to develop transgenic crops for disease, insect and nematode resistance through plant RNAi-mediated silencing of vital genes of the target pathogens and pests.
