Biography
Dr. Zhu is working as an associate professor at Rutgers New Jersey medical School in Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Dr. Zhu's laboratory studies two herpesviruses, human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and Varicella-Zoster virus (VZV). His goal is to understand HCMV and VZV pathogenesis - specifically, how these viruses interact with host cells, replicate in and cause diseases. He did his PhD in Biochemistry from Columbia University in 1993. He was a post-doctoral fellow in virology at Princeton University.
