Atsuhiro Shimakura is currently working as Professor at Toyama Teishin Hospital, Toyama, research interest includes Arterial Stiffness,  Anticoagulation Therapy, arteriosclerosis, Oscillometric Waveform, spectral analysis of heart rate, arterial pressure, and muscle sympathetic nerve activity in normal humans
