Biography
Aaron Smalter Hall is a Senior Data Scientist in the Center for the Advancement of Data and Research in Economics (CADRE) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He joined the Bank in July 2015 after several years directing the Molecular Graphics and Modeling Laboratory at the University of Kansas.
He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Kansas and his research background is in machine learning techniques for large, heterogenous, structured data sets with a specific focus on ensemble approaches, regularized optimization, and kernel methods for structured similarity, with applications to paired object modeling.
